Themba Masuku

Before joining the bar, Themba was a specialist researcher in public safety, security reform, crime, violence, and public policing for over 25 years. His career includes working with for the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR), the Institute of Security Studies (ISS) and the African Policing Civilian Oversight Forum (APCOF). Notably, Themba was part of the International Expert Panel on Crowd Management and Public Order Policing, formed after the Farlam Commission of Inquiry into the Marikana mine worker massacre.

ACADEMICALLY, Themba holds a BSoc Sci – 1996; a BSocSci (Honours); a MSocSci from University of Natal now KwaZulu Natal – 2001. He also holds a LLB, 2015 and an LLM 2019 from University of South Africa (UNISA).
